Summer Writing Groups

For graduate students working on long term, advanced writing projects – join the Graduate Center and the Writing Center for summer writing groups!

During the months of June and July, these writing groups will provide structure and support for graduate students working on long-term, advanced projects, such as a dissertation or an article for publication. The groups will meet weekly in person in the Graduate Center. One group will meet on Wednesday mornings, from 9:00am – 12:00pm; the other will meet Thursday afternoons, from 1:00 – 4:00pm. Typical sessions will start off with a brief check-in and warm up followed by two periods of individual writing punctuated with a break, and they will conclude with a chance to reflect and set goals for next time. Graduate fellows from The Writing Center will facilitate each group, and refreshments will be provided. There is no cost to participate.

Registration is due May 3.

Writers who are signed up for The Writing Center’s dissertation retreats are welcome to participate in these groups!
