The Graduate Center is a central hub for programming, resources, university-wide graduate student groups, and community for all graduate and professional students at WashU.

Centrally housed in the Office of the Provost, The Graduate Center (TGC) partners with schools, units and offices across both the Danforth and Medical Campuses. TGC works closely with the Vice Provost for Graduate Education and International Affairs.

Programming topics include graduate student professional development, graduate student leadership, and interdisciplinary, academic, and personal development. TGC staff also advise university-wide graduate student organizations.

Mission

Established in 2008, The Graduate Center provides interdisciplinary, academic, and personal programming and community to the nearly 9,000 graduate and professional students at WashU. The Center:

  • Provides a centrally-located hub for graduate and professional students that includes study, meeting, and social programming spaces.
  • Encourages students to foster a sense of interdisciplinarity and develop social and intellectual communities among their peers.
  • Empowers students to develop and practice leadership skills through programming and graduate student groups and governance.

Located in the Ann W. Olin Women’s Building, TGC’s suite is on the garden level. The space includes a large commons space, a large conference room, and small meeting rooms (a.k.a., “Bear” and “Brookie”).
