Summer is coming, and we know that for grad students, the work doesn’t stop. If that includes you, and you’d like some structure and community for keeping at it, our summer writing groups might be a good fit! Summer writing groups are organized by the Graduate Center and The Writing Center for graduate students working on advanced writing projects.

During the months of June and July, these writing groups will meet weekly in person in the Graduate Center on the Danforth campus.

This year, each group will run for four weeks. We are organizing a June Tuesday morning group and a June Thursday afternoon group. We are also organizing a July Friday morning group and a July Thursday afternoon group. The morning groups meet from 9:00am – 12:00pm, and the afternoon groups meet from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Grad students are welcome to sign up for one or more groups, but we ask that you commit to attending each session for that group.

Typical sessions will start off with a brief check-in followed by two periods of individual writing punctuated with a break, and they will conclude with a chance to reflect and set goals for next time. Graduate fellows from The Writing Center will facilitate each group, and refreshments will be provided.

There is no cost to participate, but space is limited!
